Megan Lear (President)

Hello! My name is Megan Lear and I am a Sophomore at The University of Akron. I will be serving as the president for the second time this coming year. I am majoring in Biochemistry and Spanish with the hopes of becoming a doctor. I am a proud six year member of the K-Family (four years in Key Club and two years in Circle K). Above all us, I just enjoy helping others and making my community a better place. I hope to recruit other students with these same goals in mind. Additionally, I hope to continue to serve more hours, raise more money and donate more canned food and clothing this year than any year before. I am excited with the help of my amazing new team to make these dreams a reality.

Hello! My name is Grae Pollard and I proudly serve as Vice President for the Circle K club at the University of Akron. It is my passion to engage with and empower others, which is why I enjoy being a part of Circle K so much. Other than my involvement with Circle K, I am also apart of the Residence Life and Housing Staff and serve as a Residence Assistant. Also I participate on Akron's Speech and Debate Team and Pre-Law Club. Lastly, I am pursuing a degree in Psychology and Political Science with a minor in Spanish. Currently I am a Freshman and am from Canal Fulton, Ohio. Hope to see you at our meetings and help us make a positive impact on our community!

Grae Pollard (Vice President)
Kajal Madan (Secretary)

My name is Kajal Madan and I am a Natural Sciences major who is on the Pre-Med track! I was involved with Key Club during my four years of high school and joined Circle K in college to continue my affiliation with Kiwanis. I enjoy giving back to the community and love helping others. Service is such an important aspect of enriching our lives as well as the lives around us. I am so excited to serve as Secretary of Circle K! As an officer, I hope to expand volunteer opportunities available to members, increase collaboration on service projects between other colleges, and complete bonding and interactive activities to strengthen the team dynamic of our club and to get to know one another. I also hope to increase member recruitment and retention and strengthen communication between the officer board and members. I am looking forward to working alongside the other officers to making this the best year that the University of Akron's Circle K has ever had!

Rachana Raghupathy (Treasurer)

Hi! My name is Rachana Raghupathy, and I am a first year Natural Sciences major at the University of Akron. As this is my first year, I have not had an outstanding amount of involvement in Circle K (I participated in Key Club at the high school level for four years), but I look forward to attending the service activities in coming weeks as well as planning more events for the future. I feel so passionate about service because I feel through it, we can and do make a real difference. There are about 7 billion people in this world, and, in many ways, that can make an individual feel small and insignificant, but it is the whole act of coming together and working as a team to make an impact that does truly affect our community and trigger a ripple effect, and that’s the most beautiful thing about service.

As the treasurer of University of Akron Circle K, I first intend on making sure that we as a group are financially organized, but ultimately look forward to taking the first steps to start altruistic chain reactions within this group, within this university, and eventually within the Akron community. I’m enthusiastic that this year will be one dedicated to service and making an impact in the Akron community and am excited to start this journey with the current members of UAkron Circle K and hopefully some new recruits!

Andrew Barry (Bulletin Editor)

My name is Andrew Barry, I am going into my second year at Akron. I am double majoring in Political Science and Spanish. I joined Circle K at the beginning of my freshmen year here. I wanted to join a service organization on campus because I think it is so important to help others, and Circle K seemed like the best choice for me.

I am the Bulletin Editor for Circle K at Akron. The 2017/18 school year will be my second year I have been privileged to hold this position. While holding this position I have created and maintained Instagram and Twitter accounts for our organization to outreach to new students as well as keep current members informed and maintain photo records for the organization. This upcoming year, I hope to grow these media platforms as well as encourage our members to stay informed through them. Along with help from the rest of the board, I also intend to rejuvenate our Facebook page for the organization this year.  Circle K is an amazing organization and this upcoming year is going to be an amazing year for us!

Punita Peketi (Service Coordinator)

Major: Natural Sciences

Involvement: New member of Circle K

Why I am passionate about service: I love to give back to the community and in high school I loved spending most of my free time being able to work with others and help plan projects in the community.  Also, when volunteering, it is great to meet so many different people from different backgrounds and learn about their life stories. Being able to help them on top of it all, is a blessing.

Leadership position and what you hope to accomplish this year: Service Coordinator of Circle K. I hope to be able to add a diverse amount of service projects in the Akron and Cleveland areas such as working with the Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland, and other local areas. I also hope to plan events where the club can work with a diverse amount of people of all ages, younger kids and adults alike. Finally, I hope to increase the members in the club and enhance communication so that many more people can help volunteer and be involved in the community, making Circle K known in the University and Akron community.

Melissa Edgington (Public Relations Chair)

My name is Melissa, but most people call me Mel. I am a history major and the current Publicity Chair. I have been in the K family since my freshman year of high school and have a passion for volunteering because it connects me to the community and I love giving back. This year I hope to work on a lot of projects that require campus involvement to give back to nonprofits in the area. I hope to help publicize the club more through this work to help the club grow in influence and numbers.
